| Biography | EMELINE CHATELIN
Emeline joined the Cannes Conservatoire at the age of six where she studied
with Mrs. Lucile Dabos. In 2002, Emeline won the first price for Harp,
with the jury distinction. Following this high distinction, she was offered
two years of master classes at the conservatoires of Cannes and Antibes
(under the supervision of Magali de Coster). In 2004, Emeline Chatelin was Gold Medal uninanimously with Jury distinction, at Antibes, as well as first price uninanimously with jury distinction at Cannes. Since 2003, she is studying with Élisabeth Fontan-Binoche, and is carrying on studies in harmony, as well as a degree in Musicology at the Faculty of Letters (Nice). In 2004, she is Second of the international contest Martine Géliot. That was rewarded by a concert in Paris in March 2005, and the prestigious Special Price SPEDIDAM. Mars 2005, is also the date the creation of "Harpsodie" – the work of composer Jean-Michel Damase – specially written for Emeline. In July and August 2005, Emeline performed in Byblos (Lebanon), where
she also composed and recorded with percussionist Georges Barbar. |
